Here's the thing about blogs, they are often started with the loftiest of intentions. Take mine, for example. I had planned to post every Friday. No matter what. I was positive I would post more often than that. But books have a way of taking over the nooks and crannies of your life. My last post was in January. And now it's May.
There's just a bit of last minute work for me on the knitting book due out next Spring. The Hanukkah Trike will be out this Fall. I'm back at my desk now with a head full of stories and a summer packed with ideas. Stay tuned.

Dear Michelle, I just read your article for Lion Brand and wanted you to know that I've read others you've written for 'em and I've enjoyed every single one!! So excited that you've finished your book, congratulations! It's always a great feeling to finish a long project. Glad you still like to knit after all that, too.
ReplyDeleteWish I was in Iowa so you could teach me to knit. Next best thing will be to get your book. I have been crocheting for a few years is all and I see all the lovely dainty knit projects out there and so I do plan to learn soon. My mom knit as I was growing up but I'm left handed and she had a terrible time trying to teach me so we gave up.
I did however learn to sew when I was a young kid and after my daughter was born I made her some really pretty dresses with matching doll dresses. I think my understanding of patterns will help when I'm trying to fit knit and crochet patterns to my body (at least I'm hoping so). I'm crocheting my first top, the Lion Brand Crochet Sea Breeze Top in cotton and it doesn't have sleeves so I think it's a good one to start with. Wish me luck and patience, thanks.

I also just read The Wonder of Knitting, and it is the first of your articles I have ever read. Your story and thoughts about knitting struck a chord in me. I am a long-time crocheter who has only tried knitting one time, many years ago. It was so difficult for me, and my stitches were very tight, so I became discouraged and did not attempt it again.
